A Day in Kampala

First day in Kampala was spent moving from backpackers to villa and meeting Lily's family before saying cheerio to them as they headed off to Fort Portal and beyond as we headed into Kampala centre.

This is achieved by waving down a taxi (12/16/ as many as they can shove in) and charged us 1,200 Ugandan schillings per person which is equivalent to 30p or 50cents!

The traffic is absolute chaos but you just have to go with the flow.

Ended up having an early dinner at Javas and walked back to the taxi rank. This is a taxi rank like no other you will see in the world - it was shown I think on Top Gear Uganda - check out pictures below.

However of the million or so called taxis - none were going in our direction! Ended up getting a taxi about half way - stood at the side of the road for about 10 mins. By this time the sun had disappeared and we or should I say me, caved in and got a Boda each with strict instruction for them to drive safely - I was shitting myself but more concerned about Annabel but she is not fazed by it.. hmmn

Back in one piece and beers in the fridge!
